Motorcycle riding experience: |
Colombia is Adventure Riding Paradise but definitely not the place to learn or practice your riding skills. Riders must be confident on all types of terrain, off road and on road, be calm on heavy traffic and prepared for unexpected situations such as unpredictable drivers, wet conditions, muddy conditions and long hours on the saddle. |
Renters should have experience with the type and size of motorcycle being rented. Our team offers a Motorcycle Familiarization for the motorcycle you will be riding. The Motorcycle Familiarization includes information about the motorcycle specific control location and operation, luggage, fuel, etc. If you would like more information please contact us. |
- |
Damage waiver: |
Each motorcycle rental is eligible for a Damage Waiver that will cover any/all repair or replacement costs that are above and beyond the $2000.00 (USD) damage deposit. Each primary rider is responsible for their own motorcycle rental and any/all damages. As examples: |
- if a motorcycle is returned with a damaged front wheel rim and crushed pannier that costs $750.00 to repair/replace; these fees would be deducted from the $2000.00 Damage Deposit and the balance will be reimbursed to the rider. |
- if a motorcycle is damaged with twisted forks, cracked windshield, crushed panniers, and a cracked fairing that cost $3,200.00 to repair/replace; the first $2000.00 in repair/replacement costs would be deducted from the Damage Deposit and the additional $1200 in costs would be paid by the renter –unless covered by the Damage Waiver opted for pre-rental. |
- |
Motorcycle damage deposit: |
Each motorcycle rental requires a $2,000 (USD) damage deposit to be secured with a valid major credit card. Our team will perform a credit authorization hold at the time of the rental pick-up. The excess can be excluded by additional insurance to reimburse the excess in the event of damage, for example at HanseMerkur https://www.motourismo.com/en/infos/how_to_use#selbstbehaltausschluss |
Please make arrangements with your credit card provider for this ahead of time. Each primary rider is responsible for their own motorcycle rental, any/all damages, and damage deposit. We cannot take multiple damage deposits upon one card for multiple riders. |
- |
Riding gear: |
We always recommend that you bring your own gear, as you know it will fit and you will be comfortable for the duration of the trip. |
There is basic gear available to rent, helmets, summer jackets and gloves. The helmets are full-face/dual sport style D.O.T. approved. If you need any of this basic riding gear, please let us know ahead of time to make sure it is available at the time of your trip. |
If you need assistance with gear options locally, such as boots, riding pants or any other accessory or gear, please let us know how we can help. We partner with many of the local dealerships and accessory shops and can direct you to best meet your needs. |
- |
IMPORTANT: Listed routes or destinations may be subject to change depending on road conditions or other factors. In Colombia, road conditions are very unpredictable - landslides, construction, etc. So sometimes we need to change a route or a destination last minute. |

We will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel of choice or our Headquarters if you decide to stay with us. After all the riders have arrived, we will go out for dinner to get to know your new adventure buddies!
Paperwork signing and briefing will take place on the first day if time allows.
-
Day 2: CALI – SALENTO

Our epic adventure starts heading up north towards Calima Lake taking the back roads with lots of twisties and some off-road to get your heart pumping and get a taste of what riding Colombia is all about!
-
Day 3: SALENTO – TERMALES DEL RUIZ
Mixed Terrain – 180 Km approx
Before we head out to The Ruiz Volcano, we will visit the Cocora Valley, near Salento, where we will admire Colombia’s national tree, the Wax Palm, the tallest in the world by the way.
We will go from 1400 Mts above sea level to 4000 by the time we reach our destination. We will ride twisties and mixed terrain all day. Our hotel stands near the top of the Ruiz Volcano with a beautiful view down to Manizales, and to top this off, an amazing natural hot spring pool will make you want to stay an extra day!
-
Day 4: TERMALES DEL RUIZ - RIO LA MIEL
Mixed Terrain – 225 Km approx
Be ready for some more twisties, some technical offroad sections, ferry rides, old bridges, and drastic elevation changes, we will go from 4100 Mts above sea level to almost 200, so have your bathing suit handy!
The location of this next destination is so hidden, that we will need to leave our bikes behind and take the local transportation, which I won’t reveal here but I am sure it will surprise you. We will merge into the deep rainforest to find our shelter for the night.
-
Day 5: RIO LA MIEL - SONSON
Mostly Off-road – 130 Km approx
Get your off-road game ON! Everything from dirt, river crossings, rocky trails, and sand, about 110 km of it! Today we have the option of staying in a small village if we feel too tired to continue or carry on to our destination for the day, Sonson, 2 hours away.
-
Day 6: SONSON – SALAMINA
Mixed Terrain– 90 Km approx
Today we will ride through beautiful coffee farms, in the heart of Colombia, this road is only used by local farmers to transport their crops, we will find some challenging sections for sure!
Salamina is a very charming town, declared a national monument and historic heritage.
-
Day 7: SALAMINA – FILANDIA
Mixed Terrain– 160 Km approx
This is our last Colonial town before heading back to Cali, also in the heart of the Colombian coffee region, Salento has become a must-visit destination when in Colombia. From Salamina, we will take the less traveled roads and ride over the Andes ridges where views will take your breath away. We will make a quick stop at a coffee farm to understand a little bit of the production process if time allows.
Salento is known for its beautiful arts and crafts, great dining, and gorgeous lookout terrace with views of the Cocora Valley and the Tolima snow peak mountain.
-
Day 8: FILANDIA– CALI
Mostly Paved – 220 Km approx
On our way back into The Cauca Valley, we will ride through beautiful sugar cane plantations, the biggest in the country.
This is a more relaxed ride mostly on-road, the perfect way to ease down after a whole week of intense riding and adventures.
-
Day 9: RETURN HOME DAY
We will take you to the airport on time for your flight back home. We will be more than happy to assist you in any additional travel plans you may have within Colombia.
