Description

Round trip through the northwest of Greece. Relaxed outward and return journey by sea.

Over vast ranges of hills, through remote valleys and lonely villages, we ride through a landscape worth seeing, which leaves an unforgettable impression.

We get to know beautiful regions of Greece beyond the usual clichés of gyros, tzatziki, and ouzo. At the same time, Greek hospitality is proverbial.

Of course, our trip is also a journey through antiquity. On our way to the birthplaces of the occidental culture, places like Delphi, Epidauros, Sparta, and Olympia as well as the legendary Meteora monasteries or the road of Corinth may not be missing. Often you can hear the words UNESCO World Heritage Site.

When we think of Greece, most people think of the sunny Aegean islands, beautiful nature and beaches, traditions, and myths. We combine exactly that, with breathtaking motorcycle tours, where the fun of cornering is not neglected.

We ride through the land of Greek mythology, visit temples and get to know the unique Peloponnese peninsula. Great sights line up with impressive ancient sites. Remote mountain villages and imposing mountains alternating with gorgeous coastal roads and beautiful sandy beaches, this tour brings us close to the uniqueness of Greece!

Tour itinerary:

Day 1:

Independent arrival at our starting hotel and meeting point in Sterzing/South Tyrol.

Check-in until 18:00, followed by a tour presentation and getting to know each other over a cozy dinner.

Day 2:

We start our first-day stage with a small pass tour. Depending on your condition and time, the Kofeljoch, Wurzjoch, Falzaregio Giau Pass, and Duran are on the program. In the late afternoon, we arrive in Vicenza in the Venice area for our overnight stay before the ferry crossing.

Day 3:

Today we spend most of the day at sea as the ferry crossing to Igoumenitsa is on the agenda. After breakfast, we head towards the lagoon city of Venice. Our guides will be happy to assist you with the check-in on the ferry. After dinner, we will enjoy the stay on board.

Day 4:

(Ferry arrival approx. 13:00) Today's itinerary depends a bit on when the ferry arrives and when we can leave it. From Igoumenitsa, we follow the E90 for a short distance before we take country roads toward Lake Pamvotida. Depending on the time, we will ride over the Katara Pass to our hotel in the Kalambaka area near the Meteora Monasteries.

Day 5:

After a short ride today we will visit the Meteora Monasteries. They stand on imposing rock formations with a breathtaking view. The monasteries are located on a 500-meter-high rock extremely isolated and were once accessible only by a pulley.

Day 6:

From Kalambaka today we will ride over winding country roads through the hinterland. Passing the Plastiras reservoir, the national park Oeta and Oiti we reach our hotel in the area of Delphi in the late afternoon.

Day 7:

Before we start our tour today, we will visit the ancient city of Delphi. Here you will find one of the most historical sites of ancient Greece. The oracle of Delphi. Legend has it that Zeus sent two eagles from each end of the world to meet in Delphi. Thus, Delphi was considered the center of the world. Another highlight of our day's journey is the Corinth Canal, which separates the Peloponnese peninsula from the Greek mainland. From there it is not far from our hotel in Vrachti.

Day 8:

Today we continue south after our start. Small restaurants with sea views invite us to take a break. Another must on our daily stage is the ancient cult site of Epidaurus. We circle the Gulf of Argolida and approach our next stage destination over the mountains. Our hotel is not far from the city of Sparta, which is the subject of many legends and which we will visit shortly before our arrival.

Day 9:

After breakfast, we start our next stage. We will ride north on lonely roads with many curves. After a small detour to a chapel carved into the mountain, we continue towards Megapoli. After a short stop in Gortyna, we reach Olympia, the destination of today's stage.

Day 10:

Today is free for everyone. If you want you can relax or visit the ancient city of Olympia. It is located about 5km from our hotel. From the parking lot, it is only a few meters to the ancient sights. The ancient stadium is considered the birthplace of the Olympic Games and is only one of the sights on the site. The Temple of Zeus, Temple of Hera, Workshop of Phidias, and other unique cultural buildings of antiquity are waiting for our visit.

Day 11:

Slowly we say goodbye to Greece. For the last time, we enjoy small curvy roads with wonderful views. We head towards Patras for the ferry crossing to Ancona. Once again it's check-in and lashing the motorcycle and letting the experiences pass in review during the crossing.

Day 12:

We reach the port in Ancona in the early evening. After the arrival of the ferry, it goes about 30 km further to our hotel in Seni Gallia.

Day 13:

Our today's stage leads first to a piece along the coast. Then we head inland before heading back up into the mountains in the Bologna area to our hotel in Tole.

Day 14:

The last leg of our Greece tour takes us back to our starting hotel in Sterzing. An impressive journey is coming to an end. A last, beautiful evening with old and new friends before heading home the next day.

Day 15:

Independent journey home for the participants from our final hotel in South Tyrol.
