What would have become of this city on the prairies if it wasn't located just 80 km from the best ski resorts in the Canadian Rockies? The days when the town made its money in the cattle trade are long gone. Nearby tourism and oil are now Calgary's main sources of income. Once a year, the Calgary Stampede, the ultimate rodeo world championship of cowboys and cowgirls, takes place here. This morning you will have the opportunity to explore Calgary. There is the option to book an optional tour that includes the Gasoline Alley Museum and the Calgary Tower. More than 60 original houses, the General Store, a newspaper printing plant, and a working historic railroad show life around 1890 in this museum village, which you can also visit. Fancy some sauerbraten or Kassler ribs? Then you've come to the right place for dinner in Kimberly. The top addresses are called "the old Bauernhaus" or "Bavarian Platzl".
