Day 02 - Calgary City Tour & Tower - Bike Pickup

What would have become of this city on the prairies if it wasn't located just 80 km from the best ski resorts in the Canadian Rockies? The days when the town made its money in the cattle trade are long gone. Nearby tourism and oil are now Calgary's main sources of income. Once a year, the Calgary Stampede, the ultimate rodeo world championship of cowboys and cowgirls, takes place here. This morning you will have the opportunity to explore Calgary. There is the option to book an optional tour that includes the Gasoline Alley Museum and the Calgary Tower. In the afternoon the tour briefing will take place and you will be transferred to the rental station where you will pick up your bikes. After a short briefing, you will ride back to the hotel and have dinner together. Overnight stay in Calgary.

Day 03 - Cowboy Trail - Crowsnest Pass - Fort Steele 430 km

In the morning all the luggage you need for the tour will be loaded into the support vehicle. First, you will take the so-called Cowboy Trail under your wheels. You will cross the Crow's Nest Pass, which was made famous by a huge landslide in the last century. Through the Rockies, via the ski resort of Fernie, you will reach Fort Steele. More than 60 original houses, the General Store, a newspaper printing plant, and a working historic railroad show life around 1890 in this museum village, which you can also visit. Fancy some sauerbraten or Kassler ribs? Then you've come to the right place for dinner in Kimberly. The top addresses are called "the old Bauernhaus" or "Bavarian Platzl". Here you can find everything that North America thinks is German cuisine! (Although the apple strudel is really good!) With the closing of the last mine in the 70s, the idea of the Bavarian place was born. Overnight accommodations today are in the Kimberly area.
