Daily schedule:
Day 0 - Arrival
Arrival and check-in at your base hotel
Day 1 - A quick trip to the end of the (old) world, approx. 195 km
After your arrival the day before, you will rest a bit and get used to the mild climate. If you have rented a motorcycle (please do this in time before your trip), you will have enough time to pick it up in the morning. The first tour starts in the afternoon at 14h from your base hotel.
We will ride a shorter tour, on which you will get a first impression of the curvy hinterland. The way back takes us along the coast to the (old) end of the world to Sagres, the most southwestern point of mainland Europe. A little further on, at a nice restaurant directly on the beach, we will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and get to know each other over dinner. If you feel like it, you can venture into the water of the Atlantic for the first time. The way back to the base hotel takes only 30 minutes and can be done individually.
Day 2 - Montanhas e Lagos, approx. 312 km
The hinterland of the Algarve has a lot to offer and so we explore it extensively. Here the landscape changes completely and the roads are mostly super empty. We don't miss the chance to visit the highest elevation of the Algarve, the 902 m high Monte Fóia, and admire the fantastic panorama from its back.
Day 3 - To the dragon lake at the Rio Guadiana
Tour A: approx. 400 km
Tour B: approx. 290 km
We ride to the Rio Guadiana at the Spanish border. After a few kilometers along its banks we turn off to Dragon Lake, where we take our well-deserved lunch break.
Today's tour is quite long with 400 km. Therefore, there is an option of a 100 km shorter route. No matter which tour you choose, there will be a guide with you in any case.
Day 4 - Like pearls on a string, approx. 213 km
Afternoon at leisure
In the morning we take a shorter tour to the beaches not far from Lagos, which are lined up like pearls on a string. Beach is beach? Not in the Algarve! There's the beach with red cliffs, the one with sand dunes, one with black cliffs and even one with a river. Which one do you personally like best?
The afternoon is at leisure. Maybe for...
- a visit to the Ponta da Piedade rock formation near Faro and boat trip to the caves (take a boat directly at the end of the stairs; the small boats go closer to the caves)
- a visit to the Lagos Zoo
- a visit to the small town of Tavira with its castle and Ilha de Tavira
Day 5 - At leisure
For the well-deserved free day, here are our tips:
- Visit the only thermal spa in the Algarve and in the south of Portugal in Monchique - pure relaxation in the spa; the alkaline water, rich in fluorine and bicarbonate, contributes to relaxation and well-being in a special and exclusive way.
- Sea Safari with dolphin watching directly from the port of Lagos
- Swimming at one of the countless beautiful beaches along Lagos, which we got to know the day before.
- Guided day tour through Silves and Monchique with wine tasting (external offer)
- Offroad tour to Sagres and the National Park West Coast on four wheels (external offer, Sagres Discovery)
Day 6 - Culture and hustle and bustle, approx. 274 km
Our way leads us right into the Portuguese culture and the pulsating life of the market in Loulé, before we are rather secluded again on the following kilometers.
Day 7 - Through the wild west, approx. 301 km
Another wonderfully winding tour through the hinterland with a grandiose end at the coast shows us once again impressively how diverse the landscapes of the Algarve are. If you like, you can end the day with us at our insider tip directly at the sea and enjoy the culinary delicacies.
Day 8 - Just to Califórnia and back, approx. 274 km
The roads around Monchique are among the most winding in the Algarve - today they are ours. A worthy end to a fantastic experience.
If you have rented a motorcycle, you have the possibility to bring it back later in the afternoon.
Day 9 - Departure
