Versilia base, seven days, 2,200 km

It opens at the Pratteln motorway services near Basel, where the group sets off together. After an overnight stop near Erba the way crosses the Ligurian Apennines to the Versilia Coast, where four nights with half-board wait at the three-star base hotel Dei Tigli in Lido di Camaiore. From there come day stages of between 180 and 380 kilometres through Tuscany and along the coast. You ride your own machine, and a support vehicle carries up to 15 kilograms of luggage per person.

Highlights

Base Hotel by the Sea

The three-star Hotel Dei Tigli sits quietly near the water in Lido di Camaiore. For four nights it is the starting point for three day stages through Tuscany and along the Ligurian coast, with the luggage left in the room.

Passes of the Apennines

The outward and return legs cross the Ligurian Apennines: tight bends, well-surfaced passes and the occasional rough section between Ticino and Emilia Romagna define these two long stages.

The Towns of Tuscany

Pisa with its Leaning Tower, the old town of Lucca, plus Siena and Volterra: in all four there is time to wander at your own pace, accompanied throughout by guides who know the region.

Marble and Cinque Terre

Via Massa and Carrara, past the famous marble quarries, you reach the five villages of the Cinque Terre. At midday the group heads back to the coast via Aulla, Casola and La Spezia.

Support Vehicle Along

Your luggage travels in the support vehicle, up to 15 kilograms per person. That leaves you riding light all week through Tuscany, with no heavy pack strapped to your own machine at any point.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

For experienced riders who handle winding roads and hairpins confidently. Road conditions and daily stages of between 180 and 380 kilometres call for a matching level of fitness.

Yes, riding is on your own bike only. A support vehicle takes care of your luggage, up to 15 kilograms per person, across the whole week.

On the third day: the stage links Pisa via Monte Pisano and Lucca to the well-known spa town of Montecatini Terme before returning to the coast.

The Ligurian Apennine passes are well surfaced but in places narrow and winding. A confident feel on tight mountain roads helps here.

Six nights with half-board, the welcome aperitif, the guided day stages as per the programme and the luggage transport in the support vehicle.
